Lupe Fiasco - The Show Goes On

LA-SER

Alright, already the show goes on
Alright, till the morning we dream so long
Anybody ever wonder, when they would see the sun up
Just remember when you come up
The show goes on!
Alright, already the show goes on
Alright, till the morning we dream so long
Anybody ever wonder, when they would see the sun up
Just remember when you come up
The show goes on!

[Lupe Fiasco Verse 1]
Have you ever had the feeling that you was being had
Don’t that sh-t make you mad
They treat you like a slave, with chains all on your soul,
And put whips up on your back,
They be lying through they teeth
Hope you slip up off your path
I don’t switch up I just laugh
Put my kicks up on they desk
Unaffected by they threats than get busy on they ass
See that’s how that Chi-Town made me
That’s how my daddy raised me
That glittering may not be gold, don’t let no body play me
If you are my homeboy, you never have to pay me
Go on and put your hands up, when times are hard you stand up
L-U-P the man, cause a brand that the fans trust
So even if they ban us they’ll never slow my plans up!

Alright, already the show goes on
Alright, till the morning we dream so long
Anybody ever wonder, when they would see the sun up
Just remember when you come up
The show goes on!
Alright, already the show goes on
Alright, till the morning we dream so long
Anybody ever wonder, when they would see the sun up
Just remember when you come up
The show goes on!

[Lupe Fiasco Verse 2]
One in the air for the people that ain’t here
Two in the air for the father that’s there
Three in the air for the kids in the ghetto
Four for the kids who don’t wanna be there

None for the n-ggas trying to hold them back
Five in the air for the teacher not scared to tell those kids thats living in the ghetto that the n-ggas holdin back that the World is theirs!
Yeah yeah, the World is yours, I was once that little boy
Terrified of the World
Now I’m on a World tour
I will give up everything, even start a world war
For these ghettos girls and boys im rapping round’ the World for!
Africa to New York, Haiti then I detour, Oakland out to Auckland
Gaza Strip to Detroit, say hip-hop only destroy
Tell em’ look at me, boy!
I hope your son don’t have a gun and that would be a D-boy

Alright, already the show goes on
Alright, till the morning we dream so long
Anybody ever wonder, when they would see the sun up
Just remember when you come up
The show goes on!
Alright, already the show goes on
Alright, till the morning we dream so long
Anybody ever wonder, when they would see the sun up
Just remember when you come up
The show goes on!

[Lupe Fiasco Verse 3]
So no matter what you been through
No matter what you into
No matter what you see when you look outside your window
Brown grass or green grass
Picket fence or barbed wire
Never ever put them down
You just lift your arms higher
Raise em till’ your arms tired
Let em’ know you’re their
That you struggling and survivin’ that you gonna persevere
Yeah, ain’t no body leavin, no body goin’ home
Even if they turn the lights out the show is goin’ on!

Alright, already the show goes on
Alright, till the morning we dream so long
Anybody ever wonder, when they would see the sun up
Just remember when you come up
The show goes on!
Alright, already the show goes on
Alright, till the morning we dream so long
Anybody ever wonder, when they would see the sun up
Just remember when you come up
The show goes on!

The 'show goes on' hit the top-40 billboard rank. It is such a empowering song that I keep it looping in my iDevices for days.  On Oct 6, morning the black news broke throughout the world. Millions updating their status in the memory of jobs. We have surely lost a wonderful human being on the planet.

During the sharing yesterday, Rocy ask us what is our choice, if we could be an ordinary people who live 80+ and seeing our own kids growing up or  be a person like jobs, having shining achievement yet may not have a healthy body and accompany his own family longer.

For me, it is rather clear. Like jobs said, our time is limited, there is no reason that we withhold ourself from better performance, there is also no reason that hold us back from doing something we really wanna do and be more close to the life we wanna live. You, as a individual is the only reason that stop from success. If you plunge yourself in your destiny and do the right thing at the right time, achievement, success, wealth, will just fall into place when time comes.

Do not be afraid to live, for there is always more to discover, explore and to enjoy in life. Make it exuberance in the way that it supposed to be, but not shade away from the plan that GOD made for you.

Never think you will be too important that the world will provide everything for you. Most of time we need to search and cheese after our own fate.  Jobs, as an adventurous man has told millions to dare to live out their own live. It is not about your academic degree, sometimes it is also not that much about your connections. But your performance at this time this moment, that really defines who you are and shaped the person you will be in the future.

The Strait Time memorize jobs by an special report called iMorn. He has gone, but the show still goes on. Instead of admiring his achievement and crying over his leaving, I suddenly realized that I have the full liberty too, to perform the best of me on the stage of the world.  Let's break the prison of fear, judgement from others, ex-ordinary or maybe gloomy experience in the past. The show is for us, be free, enjoy, rise and shine. Our time is limited. For everyone of us. So what are you still waiting for?
